Are you humble enough to change?

Changes are happening ...

In partnership with

Aesop tells the story of a strong, mighty, and overly confident Oak that challenges the winds of a storm but gets uprooted, blown over, and left to rot. A neighboring Reed bows to the storm, bends with the wind, and survives.

The story is about pride and humility. It’s also about change—or the humility needed to change.

The winds of life and business are constantly blowing from all directions. We go from Oak to Reed, from Reed back to Oak—from wanting to quit to keeping on.

“Should I stay or should I go?” is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself. It protects your most valuable assets: your attention and time.

In my three decades and some change, I’ve asked it a number of times: relationships, jobs, cities, friends, businesses, clients, parties, job interviews, dates, casinos, bedrooms, and a handful of very sketchy places.

Some decisions ask us to hold on to what was, while others demand we make room for what could be.

The decision I’m making today requires Oak and a Reed.

THE WORK is coming to an end.

But please do not panic.

I'm not going anywhere—and I hope you’re not either.

I'm just making some changes—bowing to the storm, bending with the wind.

What's changing? You ask.
